The Garden is comprised of 11 thematic units

Arboretum (1): Here are mainly representatives of various trees and shrubs. The Arboretum predominantly occupies the oldest part of the Garden.

Plant system (2): presents plant families arranged in the form of an evolutionary stem. Due to space limitations, the plants are grouped by families and give only an approximate picture of the real stem.

Ecological groups (3,4): offer mostly marsh and aquatic plants, which require special conditions to flourish outside their natural habitats.

Ecogeographic groups (5): Here, plants from the mountainous and karst areas are to be seen arranged according to their geographical origin. As most of the section is comprised of earth-covered rocks, it is usually referred to as the Rockgarden.

Greenhouse (6): Growing in it are primarily representatives of tropical plant species which require higher humidity and a more or less constant temperature throughout the year. In the colder periods of the year, it also shelters plants from the subtropical zone.

Tropical glasshouse (7): beautiful tropical plants from all over the world.

Mediterranean plants (8): from different parts of the world are grown in large pots, which are transferred to the glasshouse in winter

Thematic garden (9): Various plant groups, such as healing, poisonous and industrial plants, are arranged according to their use.

Cultivation section (10): Plant beds for the cultivation and propagation of plants for the Garden. It is also reserved for scientific research. (Viewing possible only under professional guidance).

Research collection (11): The research collections represent the species and genera of our native flora, which we especially research in the botanic garden.
